Planting Time 2009!

After a little too much rain in April, the ground has finally dried enough to plant! A few of our early brassicas have been in for about 2-3 weeks, along with lettuce, carrots, beets, early turnips and radishes. We’ve also planted way more potatoes than usual. And the spring peas are up nicely and will be flowering soon.

All of our tomatoes will be going into the ground next week along with many other of the solanaceous plants. Now we just await the arrival of our sweet potatoes, and more warm weather.
Still, we’re a little behind where we usually are because of the rains. Hopefully the CSA will start on time- but you never know :/. We’ve got a lot planned and if the weather to continues to cooperate it still looks to be a good spring.

Have a good memorial day! We’ll be at the Dansville Memorial Day Parade (usually starts after the 5k is done- about 11:30)!
